|Breed:||Domestic Medium Hair|
Kransky was very grumpy when he came to us, and did not want anything to do with us. We moved him to our Shelter Managers office to see if he would settle without any other cats near him. As it turned out it was being confined in a condo that he hated as it didn’t take him long to start to trust and settle down in his own office.
Kransky’s favourite thing in life is food, so after having a bit of a smorgasbord over a 48-hour period he became a very affectionate boy, who loves chin scratches and head rubs. He now even likes to be picked up and is starting to learn how to be a normal affectionate cat. He is getting used to various people, coming and going and is not as scared of new things like he was. His confidence is growing every day. He is communicating with meowing instead of hisses.
Type of home he will need is with a patient, experienced cat person, who is willing to let him settle in his own time and also learn to trust you in his own time, He loves if you just sit and talk to him. Once you break through his cautious, wary barrier, he does a complete 180 degrees and loves you with wanting constant pats and attention.
No children, but maybe experienced older children who won’t push his boundaries too much. A quiet home with not too much change, if you are thinking of moving soon or getting other animals, then he is not the boy for you. He does not cope with change very well and dislikes other animals. Once Kransky trusts you, he will be your loyal friend and will want to be with you all the time, just enjoying your company and watching the world go by.
He loves +++ his food, and will scoff everything down all at once, obviously because he is used to a life on the streets, fighting for food. He will chase treats, which is his favourite game and loves Catnip Greenies, and cooked chicken.
He is FIV+ so he must be indoors only and has had a dental with some extractions, but everything has healed well and he bounced back really quickly and is back to eating his dry food as well.
If you have the patience and time to spend with this boy over the next couple of weeks, you will have a loving companion and he will just get better and better as time goes on. He is already displaying and learning new and positive behaviour traits every day. The right person can continue this positive reinforcement and you will reap all the benefits.
