CAT OF THE WEEK – Prince

Our 7yo Prince needs a Princess to bring out the gentleman in him.
This extremely handsome boy doesn’t always behave like a prince should. He is very playful for his age and cheeky. He needs some discipline from an experienced cat owner. He certainly isn’t nasty, just a little bit naughty and nippy at times. Prince needs a home with no young children but plenty of patience and love. Prince enjoys the company of other cats.

CAT OF THE WEEK – Toby I’VE BEEN ADOPTED!

Are you looking for a super low maintenance companion? A man of the night? Then Toby is your man!

Toby loves nothing more than lazing the day away under his or your bed covers.

‘Happy Hour’ starts between 6-7pm for Toby where he will love under his chin being scratched, belly rubs, head bops and any attention you are willing to give him, he’s also happy just chilling with you while you watch T.V. then it’s back to bed for this dude as he’s all partied out by around 10pm.

Toby doesn’t like the shelter environment so isn’t quite himself in here. He can be a little shy at first but once he knows that you want to be his friend, he’ll be begging for attention once ‘happy hour’ rolls around.

He is looking for home without other animals so that he can have the dance floor all to himself as he doesn’t like showing off his moves. A home without children would be ideal as children tend to be a bit much for this old man to take.

CAT OF THE WEEK – Logan I’VE BEEN ADOPTED!

Logan is a stunning 7yo who is everthing you could want in a feline family member, he is an affectionate smoocher that does not have a nasty bone in his body.He loves everyone including other felines, we don’t understand why he has not been adopted! Logan is FIV+ so needs to be an indoor only guy. Come and meet him at the shelter or give us a ring on 8457 6500 for more information.

Knitting 4 Kittens

The clients at Banyule City Council’s Older Adult Social Support Program meet weekly and have started a wonderful project called “Knitting 4 Kittens”. The group are knitting blankets for our cats and kittens and they came in today with their first delivery, and to spend some time with our feline friends.  The group thoroughly enjoyed knitting for a purpose and said it was fabulous to be given the opportunity to interact with the cats.  CPS really appreciate their thoughtfulness and meeting the group. We look forward to their next visit and thank them very much.

Buster is a delightful 16yo lady who thinks age is just a number and takes no notice if it. She is still very full of life, love and affection. CAT OF THE WEEK – TC I’VE BEEN ADOPTED!

TC is an affectionate chilled out 2YO boy with a wonderful disposition. When TC came to us X-rays confirmed he had a fractured pelvis. TC would need strict confinement/cage rest for at least 6-8 weeks for fractures to heal. Unfortunately his owner was unable to provide the necessary care for him. In the best interest of all concerned (especially TC) he was surrendered back to us so he could recover and be re-adopted. He has been x-rayed again to check on the healing of the pelvis and everything looks really good.

TC will be a conditional adoption – he needs to go to and indoor only household with adults and older children. He may be prone to arthritis down the track and may always have a weakness in the back area. But he is doing everything normally again, as you can see he has no issue using a scratching post which he loves.

Keep you Cat Safe and Support CPS with a Classic Pet Enclosure

Support CPS and keep your feline friend/s safe by purchasing an enclosure from Classic Pet Enclosures.

Contact Classic Pet Enclosures and let them know you that you got their details or pamphlet from us prior to purchase and they will donate 10% of all purchases over $200.00 to CPS.   It’s a WIN for your feline family member, a WIN for CPS and a WIN for your wallet!

There are many reasons why you should keep your cats contained. Contrary to popular belief, it is not cruel to keep your cats contained; in fact, cats generally feel more secure and happy in a contained environment. It is safer for them, and safer for native wildlife.  You will always know where your cat is, you will save on veterinary costs as they are safe from attack from other animals and fighting with other cats.

Why you should contain your cat –

  • Exposure to feline AIDS from fighting
  • Being hit by a car
  • Animal traps
  • Poisoning, accidental or intentional
  • Complaints and threats from neighbours
  • Rain, wind and cold, harsh winters
  • Loneliness and fear
  • Getting caught in a car engine or a garage
  • Getting collar hung on fences etc.
  • Being stolen and used for dog bait or as another families pet
  • Exposure to disease from other animals, and

CRUELTY FROM STRANGERS
