Betsy 3 Years
When we came to see Betsy, we were warned she had no trust in humans. Just as predicted by shelter staff, Betsy stayed in the spare room and hid for the first 3 weeks, only coming out to eat while we were not around. Eventually, one night, she came to the door of the spare room and would watch us. If we got too close, she would run and hide. After about 2 weeks of this, she would tolerate a quick pat on her head. She soon discovered our other cat Minerva and soon they were playing- and occasionally bopping each other like they had been siblings their whole lives.
Betsy now loves being around us and even comes up asking for pats sometimes.
She deserves a place in this calander because of all the work she had done and has come so far.
This truly is what rescuing a cat is all about.
Not only did we give Betsy a home but she has brought us so much laughter and joy that she helped us get through lockdown
