Hello, Is it me you’re looking for…

Male, aged 9.5 years, ID # 430

Meet Lionel Ritchie, named because he is such a smooth talker.

Lionel has a story. He was surrendered to us with skin cancer lesions on both of his ears, which resulted in him having to have surgery to remove a large portion of both ears.

Despite his ordeal, Lionel is a confident and an outgoing gentleman. He is 9 1/2 years old, and enjoys his cuddles and playtime.

Lionel MUST BE AN INDOOR-ONLY CAT, no exceptions. We would hate for Lionel to have to go through that ordeal again.

Hello, is it me your looking for… because I’m right here waiting for you at CPS, in Greensborough.

The Kosta Love

I got to know Kosta really well before I adopted him, because I work at the Cat Protection Society. I fell in love with him, he was just so sweet and gentle and he had these big green eyes that you couldn’t look away from.

I brought Kosta home and he didn’t care about anything except giving me nose kisses and snuggling up with me in the spare the room.

He now has run of the whole house, and he likes to terrorise our other pets.

Kosta’s favourite thing to do is jumping onto other animals from a height.

The other favourite thing is to pull himself around the bed base, then when he gets tired, instead of using a cat bed, he’ll just use my bed with the electric blanket on. So yes, he’s one spoilt boy!

Kosta has come out of his shell, he has certainly brightened up our lives.

OLDIE RAP

lights

Yo, it’s me DJ  on the decks, let’s get this party started!

There’s a group of us, we’re the senior crew,

We’ve lived through the wars, yes, one and two

We remember no phones, when you couldn’t text or type

We walked miles to schools and our belts were tight

5 cents got you a pie, drink and a lolly too

We played on the streets, and time just flew.

We may be getting on, our skin might be saggy

But we still wear sunnies and our jeans are baggy.

We’re the moggies with the most, we’re so darn cool

We’ve been around the block so we ain’t no fools

Adopting an oldie is a decision worth making

Coz all we love doing is eating and sun baking

Yep, hit in. word.

P.S I AM AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION! ADOPT ME! ADOPT ME! ADOPT ME!

Mystic, The Greatest Cat in the Land

Female aged 5 ½ years ID # 346

Mystical, magical, marvellous Mystic…She’ll put a spell on you… You won’t be able to resist this young girl’s charms. Mystic is a nice moggie who attaches herself to her special human. Once she’s formed that bond, there is no way she wants to share you, so she won’t tolerate having other cats, dogs or kids to steal attention that belongs to her! Mystic would dearly love a no-stress household where she knows she is safe and secure.

Best Buddies

Jack and Buddy are the best of friends. Ever since Buddy came home with Jack and Elaine, he’s made himself at home.

Elaine says, “Buddy will get into any space he can. We love him sooooo much and he is very much a part of mine and Jack’s family :-)he sleeps on our faces at night between us… he can’t get close enough. He’s also very spotty! Especially his tummy.”

Macavity – The Mystery Cat (T S Eliot)
macavity the mystery cat

Macavity’s a Mystery Cat: he’s called the Hidden Paw
For he’s the master criminal who can defy the Law.
He’s the bafflement of Scotland Yard, the Flying Squad’s despair:
For when they reach the scene of crime–Macavity’s not there!

Macavity, Macavity, there’s no on like Macavity,
He’s broken every human law, he breaks the law of gravity.
His powers of levitation would make a fakir stare,
And when you reach the scene of crime–Macavity’s not there!
You may seek him in the basement, you may look up in the air–
But I tell you once and once again, Macavity’s not there!

Macavity’s a ginger cat, he’s very tall and thin;
You would know him if you saw him, for his eyes are sunken in.
His brow is deeply lined with thought, his head is highly doomed;
His coat is dusty from neglect, his whiskers are uncombed.
He sways his head from side to side, with movements like a snake;
And when you think he’s half asleep, he’s always wide awake.

Macavity, Macavity, there’s no one like Macavity,
For he’s a fiend in feline shape, a monster of depravity.
You may meet him in a by-street, you may see him in the square–
But when a crime’s discovered, then Macavity’s not there!

He’s outwardly respectable. (They say he cheats at cards.)
And his footprints are not found in any file of Scotland Yard’s.
And when the larder’s looted, or the jewel-case is rifled,
Or when the milk is missing, or another Peke’s been stifled,
Or the greenhouse glass is broken, and the trellis past repair–
Ay, there’s the wonder of the thing! Macavity’s not there!

And when the Foreign Office finds a Treaty’s gone astray,
Or the Admiralty lose some plans and drawings by the way,
There may be a scap of paper in the hall or on the stair–
But it’s useless of investigate–Macavity’s not there!
And when the loss has been disclosed, the Secret Service say:
“It must have been Macavity!”–but he’s a mile away.
You’ll be sure to find him resting, or a-licking of his thumbs,
Or engaged in doing complicated long division sums.

Macavity, Macavity, there’s no one like Macacity,
There never was a Cat of such deceitfulness and suavity.
He always has an alibit, or one or two to spare:
And whatever time the deed took place — MACAVITY WASN’T THERE!
And they say that all the Cats whose wicked deeds are widely known
(I might mention Mungojerrie, I might mention Griddlebone)
Are nothing more than agents for the Cat who all the time
Just controls their operations: the Napoleon of Crime!

Lamatta- She’s one of the Family

Hello,

A few days ago my family and I came in to look at your cats, and we instantly fell in love with the little black kitten that was with her mother. We have since adopted her, and named her Lamatta. Lamatta has settled in extremely well with both our two dogs (boxer and cocker spaniel) and our other five month old kitten, Moo.

She is the most lovable and friendly kitten ever, and I’m so happy that we rescued her.

 Thanks, Amy.

Welcome to Our New Website

After some recent changes to our offices at the Cat Protection Society of Victoria, we decided that we’d invest in a new website. Our previous website was great however we needed something that would meet the ever increasing needs of our mobile cat lovers. Our new website works just great on mobile phones, tablets and of course, your desktop PC.

We believe that it strikes the right balance in terms of aesthetics whilst providing you with the right information. It will take a little while to build our content up, but rest assured the site will increase in content rapidly.

The life and soul of our organisation are our cats who are desperately searching for a loving family. Please take the time to browse our fantastic felines and give one a home!
