Benny is a gentle boy who is in search of a family that exhibits patience and compassion. Although he is timid and nervous in new environments, Benny’s warm personality eventually blooms, showcasing a wonderfully playful and energetic personality even shy cat lovers dream of nurturing.
During the first couple of months, Benny may veil his true personality, appearing cautious and quiet. However, this is only due to his nature of ensuring his safety and comfortability. Once settled in, he blossoms into a playful companion who enjoys the company of fellow cats, growing in his confidence with the right friend.
Benny’s playful self shines when it comes to toys like laser pointers, ping pong balls, and food puzzles, all which can engage his active mind. His energy is infectious, and he will delight you with his adorable antics. Having a confident feline friend around might make Benny’s transition easier and help bring out the best of his individuality.
Benny would welcome a home with a soft corner that he can call his own.
From his Foster Home
Benny is a very intelligent little boy with a lot of mental energy to exert. I’ve given him a few different food puzzles that he’s managed to solve very well and quite quickly too, so I think a big variety of food puzzles (of varying complexity) will be really good for him. I tend to feed his dry food through these puzzles and he gets quite excited for them.
Benny has a very high prey drive and enjoys hunting, especially with a laser toy.
Even though he’s scared of proximity and touch, Benny is actually a very sticky kitty. He loves to relax near his human (not too close though, yet!) and can often be found belly-up, rolling around.
He’s EXTREMELY food motivated.
He seems especially scared of human hands in particular, so it would be good to gradually build up confidence with touch. Gentle petting with a licky mat and target training have all been going very well with him, though each session needs a little warm up period with gentle touches as he’s quite skittish in the beginning.
I sometimes call him Benjamin because he looks like a very distinguished little gentlemen.
