WHERE ARE THEY NOW – Marilyn

Marilyn

The transformation this little superstar has made in 3 months is remarkable. When Marilyn was adopted she was very shy and easily spooked. Whilst she very quickly came to trust household members including my young son, she would disappear to her safe place (under the bed) if anyone new came in the front door. You could tell she wanted to trust people, but she was hesitant to. We are so happy to report that she is feeling very secure in her new home. She is very much a lap cat who likes to sleep close by, and has the most magnificent purr. She is also venturing out and soaking up cuddles from visitors now, and loving the attention. We cannot imagine our life without this little darling. She really has completed our little family, and I feel we have provided the secure environment that she needed.

Mickey is very happy, and as you can see he and his companion Bruno have bonded extremely well. Thanks for the work you do!

Cat of the Week – Meeka

Our dedicated staff spend hours with our beautiful felines. From general husbandry to enrichment and making toys, so who better to choose our Cat of Week!

First Cat off the Rank is Meeka.

Here’s what the staff have to say about Meeka;

Antonio- ‘Meeka is affectionate with a cheeky side and loves a pat’

Abbey – ‘She is loving on her terms, and has to get to know you first. When she’s comfortable with you, then  she is very loving. I suggest coming in a few days in a row to really get to know Meeka’

Erin – ‘Meeka is really sweet and cuddly – she’s picky with who gets to hold her though’

Jacquie – ‘Meeka has been with us for a little while now. And is just waiting for that special someone to come along.

Meeka is always waiting to greet us in the morning. Waiting for her pat and a chat.

She is happy to talk away, and take the pats, but will let you know when she has had enough.

Being white Meeka would need to be an indoor only cat.’

Meeka’s Profile:

Meeka is very close to our hearts- you can’t help but fall in love with this Marilyn Monroe lookalike. She definitely has a personality, and if she chooses you to be her human, you don’t have much choice in the matter but to abide by her ruling! She will let you know if you start to step out of line too. Meeka will have to be an indoor cat, and an only-cat (no dogs either please!). She wants you all to herself!

WHERE ARE THEY NOW – Bella

We adopted our beautiful Bella girl on the 7/06/17… she has settled in perfectly and we all love her to bits.

WHERE ARE THEY NOW – Connie

Meet Connie (after Constance Markievicz, the Irish revolutionary). Her favourite toys are cardboard boxes, sticks with ribbons attached, and her arch-nemesis is a small crinkly green foil ball that you gave us when we bought her. She’ll even bring it back to you so you can throw it for her, in a doggish way.

WHERE ARE THEY NOW – Poppy

Meet Poppy.

I took this cat home from your place around October 2015.

She was 10 yrs old, extremely timid – had been mistreated for sure, going on her fear when approached – but she’s bloomed into a very contented puss, who would now be about 12 yrs old.

She loves hanging out in a great garden, and even when it’s 6 degrees and raining – she sits out in it and declines my pleading to come inside.

Taco Belle seeks Forever Family

Meet Taco Belle, the Foster Feline in search of a Forever Family

Taco Belle is part of our Foster Care Program. She was very shy when she first came to us and the busy and hectic surroundings of the Shelter were too overwhelming for the wee one. The decision to put her in a home environment has paid off, as she has really come out of her shell.

Her foster carer says “she’s a lovely natured thing – very sweet and chatty”

Taco Belle is still shy around strangers and “hides the moment anyone comes over” she said.

If you’re looking to give Taco Belle a forever home, she’d love to meet you. To get an accurate understanding of Taco Belle’s nature, we’d love for you to visit her at her foster home, so if you are serious about adopting, please get in contact with us on (03) 8457 6500.

Meet our Dynamic Duos!

“But I always say, one’s company, two’s a crowd and three’s a party” – Andy Warhol

… All our duo’s need now, is YOU! So let’s start this party! We have some awesome duo’s that are waiting for their forever homes.

Meet Georgie and Bubbles.

These two have lived together their whole lives and are quite bonded with one another. Georgie is the more vocal, cheeky one of the pair. Bubbles is the more chilled out and cuddly one. Together they make the perfect duo and we would love to see them adopted as a pair.

Georgie’s quirky ways will keep you entertained and Bubbles will reward you with lots of cuddles.

Meet Shaz and Baz.

This duo were strays before coming to CPS and were not used to human contact. However, since coming to our Shelter they have really blossomed. Shaz is the more confident of the two and can be quite playful at times, and loves a pat. Baz is a quiet fellow who enjoys the company of his sister and we hope that she will help to bring out his confidence.

These two may require a little more love and patience than other cats but we believe whoever is willing to put in a little extra time with these two will be rewarded with two very sweet and hopefully more confident cats.

Meet James and Lilly.

This duo were also strays before coming to CPS. They weren’t used to human contact but are getting more and more responsive every day. They are really blossoming under the TLC we have been giving them. Lilly is the more confident of the two and can be playful and curious; she loves a cuddle. James is the more reserved cat and really loves the company of his sister; her presence is helping bring out James’ confidence.

James and Lilly will need to go to a home where the attention and extra TLC is ongoing; they’ve made such progress and we know they can get even better under your loving touch.
