Cat Protection Society’s annual ‘Nine Lives Day’ was once again a success. On Sunday February 19th, Over 50 moggies of all shapes, colours and sizes were united with their forever homes and loving families.
Everyone from CPS’ Executive Director, Dr. Carole, board members, vet Dr. Peter to staff and volunteers- all lent a helping hand on the day. They were on call to assist with adoptions, answer questions, organise showbags, look after the moggies, and provide post-adoption information on responsible cat ownership.
Those who adopted a cat or kitten received a free bag of feline goodies and a ‘Hide, Perch and Go’ carry box. For the month of February- when you adopt your ‘forever feline’, you will also receive a free bag of goodies.
The real winners of the day however, were the 50 plus cats and kittens that are now able to live their ‘happily ever after’.
1) Everyone who adopted a cat took home a show bag full of things to help their new family member settle in.
2)For Gloria and her friends nine lives day was an opportunity for a catch up and a picnic.
3)James and Riaza picked up a friend for Riaza’s little dog … this guy is going to be known as “moss” from now on – James says those familiar with the IT crowd will know where the name comes from.
4)Staff were kept busy with a steady stream of cat lovers.
5)Kevin just came along to get close to some purring friends.
6)The Brown family are one of more than forty families who have a new member in their household after nine lives day. The family plan to spend the week trying different names for this happy kitten.
7) Di has been volunteering on nine lives day for 21 years and this boy aged 15months is glad she turned up this day.
8) Chloe could not be happier with her new girlfriend.
9) Julie fell in love with an adult cat, Beatrice
