Warm Easter = prolonged kitten season

A warm Easter means yet more overpopulation of kittens.

We had yet another example today where a beautiful litter of 7 week old kittens came to us - five in total - and the people relinquishing the put on the form that we were their “last resort”. The kittens are not in very good body condition - lots of fleas - but they are definitely able to be rehoused. These kittens have gone into quarantine to be “de-flead”, fattened up and put up for adoption so stay tuned!

But we are not the only ones experiencing this surge of kittens. It seems to be a national problem.

The RSPCA is reporting exactly the same issue - prolonged warm weather has meant a longer kitten season.

The message here is that if you have a cat that isn’t desexed and it is over eight weeks old, get an appointment for the procedure NOW!

Oh…and it’s not only us “shelter” people who believe we have the very best perts available for adoption. Check THIS out.
